Shirley Mae (Madsen) Anderson, 93 of New Richmond, WI, passed away on November 10th, surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on December 13th at Bethany Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan Pennington will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at Bethany Lutheran Church. Burial will follow the memorial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Frederic, WI, at 3:00pm. Shirley was born in St. Paul, MN on October 3rd 1925 to Arthur & Gladys Madsen. She was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Central High School and continued on to Carthage college. She then became a flight attendant and flew for Northwest Airlines. Shirley was married to E.W.(Wally) Anderson on October 6th 1951; they were married for 54 years. They had three daughters, a home and a successful business in Minneapolis. In 1972 they moved the business and their family to Frederic, WI. They became and important part of the community and made many lifelong friends here. Shirley moved to New Richmond, WI in 2006, after Wally passed away, to be closer to her family. While living here Shirley was surrounded by family. She was cared for by her daughters, visited by her grandchildren and became a great grandma eight times over. She also received a new church family at Bethany Lutheran. Shirley is survived by her sister in law Sonja (Gerry) Sorensen, her children Christine (Mitchell) Dulin, Karen Thompson and Lisa (Bob) Gullickson. Grandchildren Melissa (Andy) Lindloff, Michael (Laura) Thompson, Jennifer Gullickson, Brian (Jess) Thompson and Alexander Dulin. As well as eight great grandchildren and many other family & friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband E.W. (Wally) Anderson, her siblings Arthur Madsen & Betty Jane Anderson as well as her parents. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church. Memorials can be sent to Bethany Lutheran Church Star Prairie, WI 54026 or charity of your choice.
